The Role of CETP Modulation and Inhibition in the Progression of Coronary Heart Disease
نویسنده
چکیده
DR. DAVIDSON: Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) has been a target for the management of risk for cardiovascular disease. This effort began a number of years ago when it was noted that this protein transfers cholesteryl ester in exchange for triglyceride from different lipoproteins, specifically apolipoprotein (apo)B-lipoproteins to high-density lipoproteins (HDL). It’s an exchange that provides equilibrium between the concentration gradients between the different lipoproteins. It also significantly modulates our levels of what we consider HDL and lowdensity lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol.

ارتباط پلیمورفیسم D442G ژن کلسترول استر ترانسفر پروتیین با الگوی لیپیدی و فعالیت CETP در بیماران هیپرکلسترولمی
Background: Hypercholesterolemia is considered a major risk factor for pancreatitis, atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Cholesteryl ester transfer protein gene polymorphisms are known to be associated with changes in lipid levels. We investigated the association between a polymorphism in the CETP gene (D442G) with plasma lipid levels and CETP activity in patients with hypercholesterole...

Introduction & Objective: It has been shown that there is a correlation between cholesterol con-centration and coronary heart disease (CHD). Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) plays a central role in lipoproteins metabolism and it has been suggested that various polymorphisms in CETP gene can affect the enzyme activity and blood lipid parameters. There was not enough information about ...
متن کاملI405V and -629C/A Polymorphisms of the Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein Gene in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease
Background: Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) plays a main role in high-density lipoprotein metabolism. CETP gene possesses several single nucleotide polymorphisms which have been associated with plasma high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) concentrations. The aim of this study was to determine the association of CETP -629C/A and I405V polymorphisms with coronary artery disease (...

Abstract Background and Objective: Diabetes mellitus is the most common risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD). Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) TaqIB polymorphism is associated with changes in lipid profile and may be a risk factor for CAD in patients with diabetes. This study aimed to evaluate the association of CETP TaqIB polymorphism with CAD in...
متن کاملAssociation between Mental Health and Coronary Heart Disease: A Prospective Cohort Study
Background and purpose: According to some evidence, psychological factors play an important role in the development and progression of cardiac diseases. But there are contradictions about the independent relationship between psychological distress and coronary heart disease. The purpose of this study was to examine the association between mental health and non-fatal coronary heart disease (CH...
